We are looking forward to Luci Schroder, who has a background in textile design, fine arts and photography. She discovered her passion for film after winning the Make a Film Make a Difference competition held by TAC and Grey Advertising. She has been shooting commercials and music videos for clients including Nintendo, Dodge, Chum, the National Gallery of Victoria and Campbell’s ever since. This year, her video for Alpine’s ‘Head’ landed the shortlist at the Cannes Young Directors Award. We have attached several videos, more ‘Fashion Fetish’ is available for your viewing pleasure on her Vimeo page or on Bigfish.
Skinny from Los Angeles, whose ‘Iconic’ video for DJs Moonbootica, which was selected for Saatchi & Saatchi’s New Directors’ Showcase 2012, are also part of the programme. They received an MVPA Award for their video for French electro act Yuksek and ‘Always On The Run’.
Dutch creative duo Lernert & Sander alias Lernert Engelberts and Sander Plug caused a furore with their shop window installations for Selfridges, which transformed domestic objects into women’s shoes. They produce filmed editorials for magazines such as Fantastic Man, Wallpaper (currently in cooperation with Italian label Brioni) and Nowness. ‘Natural Beauty’ clocked up 1.5 million hits on YouTube in next to no time and even caught the attention of Perez Hilton and Oprah Winfrey.
Photographer and director Leone Balduzzi introduces himself: ‘I was born in August in the land that witnessed the birth of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, Gabriele D’Annunzio and Rocco Tano, best known as Rocco Siffredi…. My style is elegant but not too romantic, I’m young but not youthful, I am suitable for both visual and storytelling indeed.’
Creative Director Ali Ali from Egypt is renowned for work including his Panda Cheese Viral campaign, which he created with his partner Maged Nassar and two-man agency Elephant Cairo. 20 million views made it the most famous Arab campaign of all times on YouTube. The winner of countless creative awards, including Dubai Lynx and Cannes Lions, Ali was made Creative CEO of DDB Tribal in Berlin early this year, however he soon switched over to film production company Doppelgänger, where he has been working as a director ever since.
The photography of director duo Marc & Ish due to their Oscar nominated film ‘RIZE’ by David LaChapelle. They captured Dita von Teese on camera for the relaunch of a Renault Clio campaign, which was celebrated as one of the most sexy car campaigns in the UK. We are looking forward to seeing what the two former CDs of the BBH agency will show us in Düsseldorf. At least we can perv on their website for now…
