Underwater by Trish Woodford

I am a photographer who loves capturing a moment in time. I love to take images that reflect a mood, a feeling, a connection with the viewer – to create a permanent memory. Each moment will never be the same, they are fleeting……but can be captured thru the lens so it can be re-lived and treasured forever. Quality portraits as about conveying a connection…..this does not always mean looking straight at the camera and smiling, it is sometimes those candid more natural moments that say the most.
I find the art of photography completely captivating and particularly natural light photography. There is a certain magic in that early morning or late afternoon light …. the beach, a jetty, park, any natural surrounds provide a great setting for those special moments waiting to be captured. I use several specialised lenses including a creative ‘Lensbaby’ lens. All images are carefully processed and can be colour, dreamy, retro/vintage, or black & white depending on your requirements.
As well people/portraiture, I love many other styles including art style conceptual photography. I have been fortunate enough in 2012 to have received four Honourable Mentions in the IPA (International Photography Awards) and to have had an image selected to be exhibited in the AddOn Festival in Sydney (part of the HeadOn Festival). In 2010/2011 I also received numerous bronze and silver awards for my work in the ‘The International Loupe Awards’ (2011), ‘The International Aperture Awards’ (2010) and ‘The Creative Asia Awards’ as well as receiving several 1st and 2nd awards in ‘The Worldwide Gala Photogaphy Awards’ – monthly Pollux Awards. I was also a ‘Nominee’ in the Wildlife Section of the Photography Masters Cup – International Colour Awards’ (2011). Awarded images can be viewed in the gallery sections under ‘Awards’.
I have a ‘Diploma in Professional Photography’ and have participated in courses in Portrait and Flash Photography. I reside just south of Perth in the Mandurah/Rockingham region and generally travel between Fremantle and Mandurah for sessions. If you like what you see I would love to hear from you, and the journey can begin.”
